Ted L. Mann
Ted was born in Opelika, Alabama, later moved to Gadsden, Alabama and has lived his adult life in Birmingham. His law career has been based in Alabama, although he represents clients in adjoining states. Ted has represented individuals who have suffered injuries and wrongful death of loved ones against many of our country's largest corporations. He has tried in excess of 100 jury cases and settled cases for more than 7500 clients resulting in recoveries exceeding $450,000,000.
Always an advocate of the individual, Ted's first client was his mother, who had been injured on the job. He saw firsthand the suffering of a devastating injury and the importance of fighting for a client in need of the best possible outcome. Since 1985, he has treated each client with the same concern and care as his mother. While legal results are never guaranteed, he takes pride in never being "outworked".
Among his accomplishments, Ted was the lead trial lawyer in the largest wrongful death verdict in St. Clair County, Alabama resulting in a $6,500,000 verdict. He tried the largest slip/fall verdict in Macon County, Alabama for $2,600,000 and obtained one of Macon County’s largest commercial truck accident verdicts for $3,300,000. As lead counsel of a national class action against Life Insurance Company of Georgia, Mann Potter, PC recovered a settlement worth in excess of $30,000,000 for class members affected by certain sales practices. Ted has also represented clients in Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi where he successfully recovered millions for clients injured in serious commercial trucking cases and product liability actions.
Ted and Venita Mann have been married for 39 years and have four wonderful children– Lacey Woodroof + Tom Woodroof and Nate Mann + Liz Mann. He is also very active on many fronts at All Saints Episcopal Church in Homewood, Alabama and enjoys spending time in the woods on his farm.
